Charity Event Background

The inaugural ‘Give a Helping Hand’ charity dinner in 2000 was launched by a group of young professionals from the EU-China Junior Managers Training Program. Participants of this training program were placed in various corporate offices in Beijing for a short period while simultaneously studying mandarin. The charity dinner is a dream brought to life by Gary Cicero and Ana Herrera and a team that used their placements and networks through the European Chamber of Commerce in China to source sponsors. Since its inception in 2000, the dinner has been an increasing success, with sponsorships on the rise each year.
