Monthly Get-Together Event in Beijing on October 28th 2011
On October 28th, the Beijing chapter of EUCMA held its monthly Get-Together Event! We introduced a new concept for the Get-Togethers where members of EUCMA were invited to give short PowerPoint presentations about their business/activities carried on in China.
The new monthly format was very much appreciated by all the participants. It has been held in a specific venue, booked for the occasion, with big screen and sound system dedicated. This format schedule is as follows:
• Dinner – Fixed price for Buffet with drinks.
• Members PPT Presentations – (about 30/40 minutes)
• Q/A – (usual up to the number of Q/A)
• Free Speeches (Open Stage) time – (about 30 minutes)
• Networking time – (usually closing the event)
Main purpose overall is to encourage our members to know more about each other professional and business activities. As we know our association members’ activities are continuously changing and this becomes a great opportunity for everyone to get the latest updates. The last 28th of October 8 members took already advantage from the new event format.
The idea is simple, the members introduce their company/business using the platform as tool to promote its own activity/product (i.e. looking for business partners), asking for advices and suggestions.
About 45 EUCMA members attended the Event. The evening started with a buffet dinner and drinks in the Yuanshang Cao bar, followed by the Member presentations and right after by an open stage session where anyone who wanted to say anything without preparation was welcome to do so.
For many it was a little reunion as they could catch up with former participants whom they hadn’t seen for a long time.
The first presentation was given by Cai Jing (METP 5) about her company, Beijing Talent Choice Consulting. She gave us an introduction about all the services that her company offers. After this, Charley Chen (METP 5) gave a presentation about a web-based singer competition by the company Rock the Web. The General Manager of Rock the Web, Hattie Yu (METP 5) joined later to do the Q&A about this competition resulting in a vivid discussion with the audience. The last presenter of the evening was Zhang Xiaosong (METP 1), speaking about a Spanish wine village for sale.
After these excellent presentations, the open stage session started. During this session, everyone was welcome to say something without preparation and PowerPoint. Maysha Lin (METP 4) kicked off by introducing her company CRCC Asia, specialized in providing internship placements for young foreigners in host companies in Beijing and Shanghai. Philippe Comolet-Tirman (METP 3) stood up and spoke about his company, Dragonfly Group, a HR consultancy, mainly recruiting Chinese employees for international and national companies. Maija Kurte (METP 5) of Linearis Translations also stepped on to the stage to give us an introduction of her translation company mainly targeting foreign companies in China.
After the open stage session, the networking part started and most people stayed to have another drink, talk and catch up with each other!
The event was a great success, and we want to thank all the presenters for their contribution to the event! Please visit the gallery for more pictures of this event.
Afterwards, all these presentation (upon request) can be published online on our EUCMA website, for higher visibility.
