Dalian is the window city for northeast China and the gateway to Beijing and Tianjin. It is backed by the vast hinterland of three provinces in the northeast and Inner Mongolia whose total population is over 100 million. Eighty percent of the export cargoes from northeast China are handled through the Dalian Port every year. Dalian, “the pearl of Northern China“, has become one of the five most popular investment cities in the mainland due to its well-established infrastructure, strong scientific and technical human resources, internationalized metropolis culture as well as its stable and safe economic environment.

With the acceleration of the trade between Liaotong peninsula and EU, there is a strong multi-stake interest of enterprises and other economic players to resolve the cultural differences and conflicts arising in the daily business operations. In order to promote the development of enterprises in Dalian, it becomes vital for EU-China managers to facilitate the cultural and business exchange and adapt the most appropriate marketing methods with Chinese characteristics.
